Sightings archive
Browse monthly accounts of unusual lights, ghost stories, cryptids, and other reported encounters. Some details are adapted for privacy or storytelling. Entries without linked sources are unverified archive accounts, not independently established events. Images are illustrations, not evidence.
“Unidentified” means the available information is not enough to identify an observation. It does not establish a paranormal cause. Reliable conclusions need good evidence; NASA explains this approach to UAP.

July 2025 sightings
Michigan sky reports
The July roundup described Michigan accounts of fast-moving lights, triangular objects with no visible propulsion, and glowing orbs above open fields. The original tally of at least three dozen accounts was not accompanied by a source. One witness near Traverse City claimed to see “a metallic egg” zigzag through cloud cover before vanishing without a sound.
Several accounts noted a distinct orange-red glow preceding the appearances, often around 10 p.m. Small towns lit up with talk of “summer watchers”—locals who now take lawn chairs to rural pastures just to scan the skies.
Zigzag lights over New York
In New York State, reports of silent craft continued into July. A string of glowing spheres and sharply maneuvering disks were spotted between Syracuse and the Hudson Valley corridor. Witnesses described apparent erratic movements; the accounts did not establish purposeful behavior.
Several described their radios acting strangely—frequencies scrambling or going silent—during the encounters. The accounts did not provide enough information here to rule out aircraft, satellites, or other explanations.
Skywatching in Scotland
In central Scotland, a group of skywatchers returned to a location near Dechmont Woods in mid-July. As part of a coordinated “conscious contact” attempt, participants gathered in silence and focused their attention on the sky. What followed was a series of blue and white flashes seen overhead—high altitude, but seemingly without cloud reflection or noise.
One attendee claimed a flickering shape hovered briefly before it collapsed into a pinprick and vanished.
Indonesia: gathering and skywatching
While not a sighting, July also saw a large-scale cultural gathering in Indonesia dedicated to aerial phenomena and the search for cosmic contact. Art installations, workshops, and nightly watch sessions were held throughout the month. During one evening display, onlookers claimed they saw “a moving star that stopped”—only to drift upward and vanish.

June 2025 sightings
This roundup includes unusual sky reports, a radar anomaly, and an identified meteor. An unusual appearance alone does not establish an unusual cause.
Star-shaped weather radar anomaly
In June 2025, a star-shaped pattern appeared in a weather radar display over Washington, D.C. The symmetrical shape lingered long enough to spark a wave of speculation across social media, with some users suggesting a possible unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP). However, meteorologists and radar technicians were quick to suggest the anomaly was likely a system glitch or software artifact rather than anything of extraterrestrial origin. At the time of the original account, no formal explanation from the National Weather Service was cited.

Georgia fireball — identified meteor
On June 26, 2025, at about 12:25 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, observers across the southeastern United States reported a bright daylight fireball. NASA identified it as a meteor from an asteroidal fragment. It broke apart about 27 miles above West Forest, Georgia, releasing an estimated energy equivalent to 20 tons of TNT.

Fighter Pilot’s Close Encounter
In June 2025, retired U.S. Air Force Major Ryan Bodenheimer revealed details of a near-collision with an unidentified flying object during a training flight over southern Wyoming. Bodenheimer, a highly experienced F-15E and former Thunderbirds demonstration pilot, described the object as a bright, rectangular craft, roughly 30 to 40 feet tall, with no visible means of propulsion. In his account, the object maneuvered swiftly and disappeared without a radar return; no sensor records were linked here for independent assessment. Bodenheimer called it the “wildest experience” of his aviation career.

Ongoing UAP Investigations
The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) investigates unidentified anomalous phenomena. Its 2025 mission brief notes that many cases remain unresolved because verifiable data are lacking. Unresolved status does not establish extraordinary technology or a paranormal cause.

Other sky reports
June also saw several other curious sky events across the globe:
- An account from São Paulo, Brazil, described synchronized flashing lights, with satellites suggested as an explanation. No official identification was linked.
- An account from the United Kingdom described brief sky flashes, with satellite reflections suggested as an explanation. Their altitude and cause were not established here.
